UCAS 2026: Key Facts & Deadlines Every Student Should Know

What is UCAS?

UCAS (Universities and Colleges Admissions Service) is the official UK platform where you apply for undergraduate degrees. With one single application, you can apply to up to 5 courses across different universities.

2026 Entry Deadlines

May 13, 2025 – UCAS undergraduate applications open

September 2, 2025 (any time) – Earliest date you can submit your completed application.

October 15, 2025 (18:00 UK) – Deadline for Oxford, Cambridge, and most Medicine, Dentistry, Veterinary courses.

January 14, 2026 (18:00 UK)Equal consideration deadline for all other undergraduate courses.

February 26, 2026 – UCAS Extra opens for applicants who’ve used all five choices and don’t hold an offer.

June 30, 2026 (18:00 UK) – Final deadline for applications to be sent to universities before Clearing begins.

July 4, 2026 – Last day to add a UCAS Extra choice.

July 5, 2026 – Clearing opens for late applicants or those without offers.

October 19, 2026 – Deadline to add a Clearing choice for 2026 entry.

  • You don’t need to rank your 5 choices, all universities won’t see where else you applied.

  • You can only apply to either Oxford or Cambridge, not both.

  • Medicine applicants can only choose 4 Medicine courses, and 1 extra non-Medicine course.

  • Your Personal Statement is shared with all your chosen universities, make it count!
